fun stuff!

While I’m spending the time to get my website together, I thought I’d post some previous work I’ve done so that for those of you who might be interested, you can see I’ve done a bit more designing than minted.com challenges and random wedding invitation sets… I’ll be posting more of my work in the coming week so stay tuned!

Updated Invitation & RSVP

I’ve made some changes to the Colorado wedding invitation- per the request of the happy couple I’m working with. I do think the invite was a bit saturated with the dark brown, but I liked that it made the aspen trunks stand out more. I also played around a bit more with the font choices and found a beautiful ink-blot type font called Aquilla for free on fontsquirrel.com that worked wonderfully for their quotation accent.

Older, Wiser & Stronger Cards

I finally finished a third birthday card design for the minted.com challenge that’s ending on July 15th.. just 4 more days! I thought our male friends would appreciate this one since most of the birthday cards I’ve been seeing on the website are for gals.. let’s face it, most of the time cards and letters are sent from gal to gal.. but guys need birthday greetings too!

hope you like this one.

wedding invite inserts

Another old friend of mine is getting married this October.. that makes 3 people I know who are getting hitched this fall, all on different weekends! I just finished her first draft of an insert she needed. The font she used for her invites is Nuptial Script so she wanted something simple with a little map graphic for her guests.

Butterfly Wishes Birthday Card

Today is one of my old college friend’s birthday and I thought I’d celebrate with her in my own way by submitting a birthday card design with her name on it to minted.com! Happy Birthday Danielle! I hope your ears are still holding up after all these years… Danielle and I both got our ears pierced for the first time as freshmen in college down in Southern California and have been sending each other earrings ever since!

aspen trees

I’ve never worked on a destination wedding invitation set for a location like Colorado but now that I have, I’m thinking it might be a great place to visit! My client told me she would be getting married in an aspen grove (which I had no idea what that would look like until she showed me pictures) and after some initial sketches, I came up with this for her mock-up invitation.

new project

I’m really excited about a new project I’ll be working on this weekend that will be a new custom designed wedding invitation set for a friend getting married in Colorado this October. The ceremony will be held in an Aspen grove so I’m thinking of creating a few concept designs for her to review by the end of the holiday weekend and will post my progress and updates.

first design challenge

I’ve officially entered my first design challenge on minted.com today! I created this truck when I was designing my son Branden’s first birthday invitations back in February and made some updates (like adding the balloons to the image and the sidebar greeting) to the design so that it would work for the “happy happy birthday card” challenge. I hope you like it and I hope it gets noticed!
