wrapping up 2011

i’d like to wrap up last year’s holiday projects with a few posts (and ones that follow) that showcase more holiday card concepts that were so much fun to be a part of…

All Aboard the Christmas Train!
In 2011, my 2.5 year old son’s love for trains grew as much as his appetite for sweets did. I thought I’d showcase his love for trains in our holiday card and embellish the design with a wreath concept I made especially for the holidays.

Live Light, Live Right Holiday Card
The Live Light, Live Right program coordinator wanted a fun and simple way to spread the season’s festivities that would go well with the casual nature of the photos of youth in their program.

A Year in a Film Strip

2011 Christine Szeto Family Holiday Card
I loved putting together all the pictures that captured the Szeto family’s year! It was especially fun having the snowflakes ‘fall’ into place as a decorative piece and having some simple, short phrases that described all the year’s activities for this family of five. Not to mention- working with her amazing pictures! Their card was a fold-out, fitting a tea length envelope and was printed on linen stock.

Color Coordinating Holiday

the Wangs wanted to color match the family photos they had taken (by Christine Szeto Photography) with a fun and sketchy design, so I chose to make them each a special colored “gift” that would represent them on their holiday card this year.

Time to ring in the holidays..

.. with more holiday cards!

the Kims wanted a unique “Texan” type logo for their card and ended up choosing this “Longhorn Santa” themed one for their cards this year. It was so much fun making it!

the Abramowicz family chose a new design I created for their photo card that features two mittens & a matching scarf, something warm and toasty for this cold weather we’ve been getting!

A Colorful Christmas Photo Card

Sometimes all you need is a “Merry Christmas!” and a little dash of the season in your photo card, if so- this card is the one for you! Both the color bars at the top & bottom of the card can be changed (as well as the color of the holly leaves!) to your liking or to match your photo.

Simple Monogram Holiday Photo Card

This card design features a full-color photo with a few personalized touches! The monogram adds a bit of sophistication, while the greeting font lightens up the mood a bit and adds a handwritten feel. Again, depending on the picture you choose for your card, the greeting and color scheme can be darker or lighter. I always try to work with the photo given to me to complete the design, that way the entire card looks complete!

It’s that time of the year…

.. for holiday cards! This year I’m excited to show off some of my ideas for my own family’s holiday card as well as ones I’ve done for my clients so far.

JOY to the WORLD holiday photo card features my son running in his halloween costume as happy as could be. The festive wreath helps enclose the photo and also adds a special touch to the signature at the bottom. I left some white space for the option of writing a short greeting, for those who want to add a special handwritten touch.

I thought I’d post some shots of cards that I finished over the summer before the holiday card season started. I hope you like them!

Get ready for Halloween!

As promised, here’s something I’ve been working on for a new client who wants custom invites for her yearly halloween bash. Definitely not in its final stages yet, but I’m hoping she’ll like the concept. I’m brewing some more designs that I’ll be sure to post soon…
